Is energy an emotion? As a photographer, I have spent years capturing light and shadow — but never the invisible force that animates every living thing. In this work, I attached vibration sensors to objects in nature and translated their movement into signals driving a fabricated webcam system: ten motors cause the cameras themselves to tremble at the same frequencies as their subjects. When the object shakes and the camera shakes with it, something passes between them. Perhaps this is what an interview really means, to listen.

能量是一种情感吗？作为一个影像艺术家，我用摄影记录了无数光与影，却从未能捕捉到驱动万物的看不见的力量。在这件作品中，我将振动传感器置于自然物体之上，把它们的运动数据转化为信号，驱动一套特制的摄像装置——十个振动马达让摄像机本身以与拍摄对象相同的频率颤抖。当物体振动，摄像机随之颤动，某种东西在它们之间流动。也许这就是访问的本质，倾听。
